Test your knowledge of retro gaming tunes!
Here's a quick little time waster that will put your memory of retro game music to the test. Retro Game Music Quiz is a free App, available from the Google Play Store, that tasks you with correctly guessing (well, remembering really) the title of 8-bit and 16-bit games from listening to a very short snippet of the game in question's soundtrack.
There are currently only NES, SNES and Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) titles, with a total of 75 snippets to listen to, but I assume that the App will be updated in the near future as there are locked modes for Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, Master System / Game Gear and Neo Geo.
Upon selecting your system of choice (from the three available at present) you then go through each question, pressing the play icon to hear a very short clip of music. You can immediately type in your answer should you recognise it, or you can use points to get one of three available hints for each title. Points are given each time you get an answer right, and hints are usually helpful, but not too obvious. I really enjoyed this App as I enjoy putting my retro gaming know-how to the test, so if you are the same I recommend you download this and see how you fare - you might be surprised how difficult it is.
